Important Notes for using Tally.ERP 9 Series A Release 4.6:
 
Steps to upgrade from Tally 6.3/7.2/9 to Tally.ERP 9:
  1.   1. Activating License:
  •       • Please surrender your existing license.
  •       • Activate Tally.ERP 9 Series A Release 4.6.
  •       • After activating Tally.ERP 9, you can activate the Tally 6.3/7.2/9 for co-existence (valid for 45 days).
  1.   2. Data Migration:
  •       • After activating the Tally.ERP 9 Series A Release 4.6, when you access the data of Tally 9 in the Tally.ERP 9, Tally.ERP 9 will prompt for rewriting the data.
  •       • If you were using Tally 7.2/6.3 please use the Tally.ERP 9 data migration tool to migrate the data to Tally.ERP 9 data.
  •         Note: Tally.ERP 9 will also prompt for a Data backup. It is recommended that you backup your existing data.
  •       • Now, you are ready to enjoy the Tally.ERP 9 features on your data.
  1.   3. Upgrade to Latest Statutory files:
  •       • Please check the Download Centre regularly for the latest statutory files.
  •         Note: Stat.900 Version 195 is the minimum Stat version required for Tally.ERP 9 Series A Release 4.6.
 
Steps to upgrade your current release of Tally.ERP 9 to Tally.ERP 9 Series A Release 4.6:
There are two ways you can upgrade to Tally.ERP 9 Release 4.6
  1.   1. Run Tally.ERP 9 Release 4.6 from new folder then,
  •       • Please surrender your existing license.
  •       • Install Tally.ERP 9 Series A Release 4.6 in a new folder.
  •       • Re-activate your license from Tally.ERP 9 Series A Release 4.6.
  1.   2. Run Tally.ERP 9 Release 4.6 from the same folder then,
  •       • Install Tally.ERP 9 Series A Release 4.6 in the existing Tally.ERP 9 folder.
 
  1. Note: It is recommended that you take a Backup of your existing data before you implement any of the above steps.
